Running Battle was written by Sergio Pizzorno and Christopher Karloff and is the 7th track on Kasabian's debut album.

BackgroundEdit

An early version of Running Battle was known by the name "All Lying".

LiveEdit

Running Battle used to be performed regularly during the Kasabian Tour. After not being played for almost nine years, it was brought back for the warm up gigs of the 48:13 Tour in April 2014. In the same month Kasabian performed a rare acoustic version of the song for Rolling Stone Germany.[1]

LyricsEdit

All lying across the ground
Trying hard to make no sound
Two men gonna break you down, I say
Two men gonna break you down, I break

All lying across the ground
Trying hard to make no sound
Two men gonna break you down, I say
Two men gonna break you down, I break

I take down what I need
'Cause you know I need to breathe
I'm tired of walking on another plane
Another plane 'cause I feel insane

I step back to get to you
Cutting back I'm falling through
Another day I feel the same
I'm cutting and I'm bleeding here with you

All lying across the ground
Trying hard to make no sound
Two men gonna break you down, I say
Two men gonna break you down, I break

All lying across the ground
Trying hard to make no sound
Two men gonna break you down, I say
Two men gonna break you down, I break

So keep those voices down
You're in view don't make no sound
A thousand voices making all the mistakes
The fire escapes and this code must break

I step back to get to you
I'm cutting back I'm falling through
Another day I feel the same
I'm cutting and I'm bleeding here with you

All lying across the ground
Trying hard to make no sound
Two men gonna break you down, I say
Two men gonna break you down, I break
