Seek & Destroy

Seek & Destroy was written by Sergio Pizzorno and is the 9th track on Empire.

BackgroundEdit

Speaking to NME in 2006, Serge described Seek & Destroy as a "two-minute tune that you don't notice first time, but after you hear the album a few more times, you realise why it's there" as well as explaining that it came "from a krautrock and Kraftwerk place" with "medieval chords".[1]

LiveEdit

Seek & Destroy was first played on 6 December 2006 in Leicester, performed only during the Empire era and dropped for good in summer 2007.

On New Year's Day 2019 Kasabian published an acoustic version of the song performed by Serge on his own on their official Soundcloud account.

LyricsEdit

Seek and destroy all you have
'Cause I know
Brother, your fears and my tears
'Cause you know
And all I have now
Is being here with you

Seek and destroy all you have
'Cause I know
('Cause I know, know right now)
They'll never be tuning in
(Cover your fear)
To what we know

And all I have now
Is being here with you
(Cover your fear, it's all we know
Cover your fear, it's all we know)

And all I have now
Is being here with you
And all I have now
Is being here with you
